The Rho Gamma Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society recently held its annual induction at Elmira College. There were 19 EC nursing juniors and seniors among those inducted.

Miami University Students Study Abroad Winter 2018 Semester

As the Spring semester ended and final exams came to a close, students across campus began packing up for the summer. For 700 Belmont students, preparations to pack looked a bit different as they prepared to participate in one of 43 faculty-led Maymester and Summer Study Abroad experiences across the world. Traveling all across the globe to Argentina, Belfast, London, Israel, Jordan, Greece, Cambodia, Poland, Austria, Costa Rica, Florence, Rome, Portugal, Ireland, Scotland, Korea, South Africa, Germany, Haiti, India, Tanzania, Hawaii and more, these 43 programs provide students with the opportunity to expand the classroom beyond the traditional experience. Students are able to visit places they've never been, see historical sites and spend time experiencing new cultures.

The following students achieved the Dean's List at Belmont University for the Spring 2018 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

On May 4, 2018, the School of Education corded graduates from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences on recognition of their completion of the teacher preparation academic program. The ceremony celebrates the induction of the student into the profession of teaching. Thirty-eight students from LAS College with majors in English, history, mathematics, music, earth science and world languages and cultures completed the program.

Five teams of deaf and hard-of-hearing students from Rochester Institute of Technology's National Technical Institute for the Deaf went head-to-head April 25 during The Next Big Idea Competition, a Shark Tank-style business competition.

The Honors College has selected 51 students to serve as college ambassadors for 2018/2019. Honors Ambassadors represent the Honors College at alumni and recruiting events both on and off campus and host prospective students during on-campus visits. Students were selected based on college involvement, knowledge of campus resources and opportunities, poise and public speaking ability.

The No. 11 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team claimed its second consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament championship on Saturday and will host the first two rounds of the NCAA Division III Championship this Friday and Saturday at Kachel Gymnasium in Whitewater, Wis.

Three members of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team earned All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference accolades based on their performances during the season, and head coach Keri Carollo has been named WIAC Coach of the Year.

For the first time this season, Elmira College's Katie Granato '19 was named the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Player of the Week (2/8/18).

UW-Whitewater celebrates December grads

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team won the 2017-18 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship after completing the regular season with a 22-3 record, including a 12-2 mark in conference play.

Dean's List honors are earned by undergraduate students who carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale.

More than 5,100 students have been named to the Deans' List/Explore Center List of Distinguished Students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the fall semester of the 2017-18 academic year.

A total of 12,594 students enrolled during the 2017 fall semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

The Iowa State University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean's List honors students who were enrolled in 12 credit hours and earned a 3.5 grade point average for the term.

Miami University Students Study Abroad in Summer

Two ice hockey players have been recognized as Elmira College Athletes of the Week, as second-year forward Matthew Cuce '20 of the men's team and third-year forward Katie Granato '19 of the women's team have garnered the honor for the week ending January 21. The award is the third of its kind for both Cuce and Granato so far in 2017-18.

Miami University students who are ranked in the top twenty percent of undergraduate students within each division for first semester 2017-18 have been named to the dean's list recognizing academic excellence.

Miami University students who are ranked in the top three percent of undergraduate students within each division for fist semester 2017-18 have been named to the president's list recognizing academic excellence.

Kennesaw State University recently named students to the President's List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Fall 2017 semester. The Kennesaw State students were honored by President Sam Olens for earning top marks.

Augustana College announced 1,138 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2017 fall term. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.

The Iowa State University College of Design Dean's List honors students who have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for at least 12 credit hours of course work.

More than 1,000 students have been named to the Carthage College dean's list for the fall 2017 semester.
